LOVE FOR LINLEY CUP 2023

The first Love for Linley 5v5 Cup was everything and more than we could have imagined. It was amazing, emotional, exciting, behind-the-scenes-chaotic, and filled with soccer families enjoying good weather and great competition. The tournament was bursting with Love for Linley.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a day to remember. Thanks to those who donated goods, raffles, time, their soccer network, and funds to help. To team Imagine Dragons and “Coach Crazy” for crushing the team donation challenge. Marc Vasconcellos from Enterprise News for publishing photos. To the most thoughtful Team Shine Bright for the flowers, chocolate and card signed by each player. To Pepsi c/o Westgate family for the giant donation of blue Gatorade.

Special thanks to EYSL Easton Soccer - Ma for the fields and to the EYSL Board who went over and above. Thank you for retiring Linley’s travel #32 and for the jersey- we will cherish it. To Kevin Powers and Eric Rogerson for taking time out of their Father’s Day to help line the fields. To Oliver Ames and the grounds crew for the generosity and support. To our fantastic vendors Southside Tees, Work Hard Eat Good, Royal Porta Johns, Laurie Landerholm's beautiful Lindigo, and Michael Haikal Elev8 Soccer- training and media production for soccer players. You were all a dream to work with- professional, reliable, personable and we truly appreciate your support.

To all our volunteers: our 6am setup rockstars, snack shack helpers, timers, our anthem singer Tilly Teravainen, photographers, registration/scoring table, raffles, keep it clean crew, runners (who knew we’d go through so much ice and so many air horns), referees, Tracy Mazzuca for the tourney logo (and OG LFL logo), our tournament nurse Heather Cote who kept me standing and our players healthy, and to our faithful announcer Rich Magee and family who stay start to finish to all of our LFLF events.

A giant thank you to our generous local sponsors: Bay State Endodontics, Sheff & Cook, JM Pet Resort , Be Inspired Together, The Peach corner store & deli, LLEJ Equipment Inc., and Landerholm Electric.

To our friends and family that we can always count on- to Linley’s brothers Luke and Griffin- who helped prep, played on teams, and did anything we asked them to do for the tourney and at home while it was being taken over by trophies, jerseys, soccer nets, Amazon boxes, crazy cricuiting moms, and lots of take-out.

Thanks to all the players from near and far and to all the soccer clubs, travel teams, coaches (including many of my kids’ former coaches), managers, and parents for believing in Love for Linley Foundation’s mission. Yesterday, we GAVE CANCER A RED CARD and raised $30,000!!!- taking a huge step towards our ultimate goal of a cancer-free future!

My heart is full. There is more Love for Linley than ever and her legacy shines bright. Our “soccer family” has grown by leaps and bounds. Thank you all.
